The University of Arizona campus community has long fought for the creation of Asian Pacific American Studies over the last two decades. With the recent rise of Anti-Asian hate crimes and the need to address such violence in the community, the panelists will discuss ways to support Asian Pacific Islander Desi Americans (APIDA) need for solidarity and understanding of what the community has faced. Addressing the need for courses that center around APIDA experiences, we offer this talk as a way to understand our community and honor Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
