What is transgender health? This talk will review transgender medicine as well as the experiences of transgender people in medicine and graduate medical education programs. We will discuss recent research related to the experience of transgender patients as well as transgender resident physicians in training programs. The talk will also have an open discussion to exploring improvements of transgender people as patients but also as providers and people within the medical field. 

Jamie Weinand, MD

Jamie Weinand, MD obtained his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 2017. He received his B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Spanish from Duke University in 2012. Professionally his interests include addiction medicine and LGBT healthcare. He is a Tucson, Arizona native and graduated from Salpointe High School in 2008. Jamie recently graduated from the Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program and University of Arizona Addiction Medicine Fellowship and is currently a family physician at El Rio in Tucson.
