Routing and Re-routing Your Way to Impact: A Chat with Mapquest Co-founder Barry Glick

Wed, 04/10/2019 - 12:00pm

Silver & Sage Room, Old Main

What does it take to build a successful software startup? Come and hear the story of Mapquest from Barry Glick, PhD, who co-founded the company in 1996.

Mapquest had an IPO and was acquired by AOL/Time Warner. After that, Dr. Glick went on to be the CEO of five more successful software ventures.

After receiving his PhD from the State University of New York, Buffalo, he taught for two years at Middlebury State College before moving into the private sector.

Along with your questions, topics for discussion will include building software ventures, optimal use of open source, and the services and people available at the UA to help you generate the maximum impact from your inventions.

Join Tech Launch Arizona and bring your questions for Barry. Lunch will be provided for all who register in advance.

This event is primarily for faculty, researchers, graduate students and staff.

Please RSVP on the TLA website Monday, April 8 so we have an accurate count for our lunch order. >>>
